Asynchronous Learning
This paper examines the use of discussion forums within a VLE.
It is a critical analytical study of the literature relating to the use of online discussion forums, with pupils below the age of 16, engaged in compulsory education in Britain.
It examines the ways in which such use enhances achievement, where pupil achievement is viewed in terms of the proposition that learning through the use of ICT can increase motivation, completion rates, student satisfaction, and perhaps, even performance.
