Case Study 3: Extra-curricular Projects
In order to encourage students to access Fronter and improve their skills in its use a number of extra-curricular areas have been set up including:
Golf Club
Saturday Morning Cafe (for junior school pupils who attend Saturday morning clubs)
Star Wars Cantina
Rocket Central (a Saturday morning rocket building club)
The Harry Potter Room is managed by students.
The standard classroom icons on the left of the screen have been replaced with more student friendly and Potter-aware names.
The 'Participants' or 'Students' have become Muggles.
The Leaky Cauldron is a series of message boards where students can discuss Potter trivia. Hogwarts contains files and resources. Links provides links to relevant websites uncovered by students. The Potter Challenge is a school wide quiz to discover the Tideway Potter Expert.
Regular moderation of such areas is required to make sure that inappropriate material or copyrighted files are not uploaded.
