Ellie the Elk

When Tideway first purchased its Learning Platform a number of strategies were used to profile its use with students.

Since Fronter is a Norwegian product, Ellie the Elk was adopted as the ICT Department mascot and a competition was held amongst students to design an appropriate logo.

The winning entry incorporated an Elk into the school logo.

A CD ROM Guide to using the system has been created.

As Year 7 students begin to use the Learning Platform in 2006 they will each be given a copy of the CD to use at home.

The Guide, a PowerPoint slideshow, is available on the school network and students will also be able to access this from home.

There is a link to Fronter from the school website at www.tidewayschool.org

There is a parent area on the system.

Information about projects on the Learning Platform are regularly publicised in the school newsletter.

In 2008 East Sussex LEA chose UniServity as its learning platform supplier.

In 2008/09 Tideway will migrate from Fronter to UniServity.
