Flexible Learning : Term 2, Year 11, 2009
Proposal
Group: Year 11 students.
Subject: ICT.
Unit of Study: Spreadsheets.
Calendar: Term 2 (November/December 2009).
The Project: to offer year 11 students the opportunity to study in a flexible way, with ICT lessons being available (with teacher support) on the learning platform. Students must have completed a minimum of 4 units of study and passed the relevant assessments in order to qualify for acceptance on the project. Parent/carer permission is also a requirement.
Programme of Study (POS): students will be issued with a POS. All students must attend lessons in week 1 (an introduction to the topic and method of study) and week 6 (for practice test and assessment purposes). In weeks 2-4 students may attend specific lessons (e.g. through discussion with the teacher a student might identify formulae and functions as a topic that benefits from face-to-face teaching) or study online at a time and place that best suits them.
In 2008 a pilot project took place with a small group of eight Year 11 students.
This is an extension of that project.
