Holocaust Project

In September 2006, Josef Perl, a child survivor of the concentration camps, visited Tideway School and made a presentation to students about his experiences. In October 2006, the school eModerators visited Auschwitz. In November 2006 the eModeratrors accompanied a small group of Year 11 students on a visit to the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam.

On their return to school, the students have created a range of resources about their visit and uploaded them to the Learning Platform. They have also hosted a message forum on the platform, where they have been available to answer questions from other students.

In 2008 students hope to arrange a number of online conferences with students in other local secondary schools, following the model established by Inet

"When I came to power, I did not want the concentration camps to become old age pensioners homes, but instruments of terror." Hitler
