Nile : Year 10
Nile is a Year 10 student. He has been using the Learning Platform in a range of subjects since Year 9. He completed his Level 2 ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) in that year as is now following a self-supported study programme for GCSE ICT (whilst his peers are completing their ECDL in class). This is a description of his experience of using the Learning Platform.
"In school i use it mainly in ICT and Business, but have also used Fronter in English."
"In ICT, i use it for uploading coursework; using the archive area to store work."
"My teacher set me up with a room in which i have full admin rights to. I have made 5 separate archives, one for my power point, excel, access and publisher coursework aswell as a separate area for storing images."
"In English i use the essay plans that have been uploaded by my English teacher into the English room. We also use a forum to discuss the essay topic and communicate with other students."
"Out of school, i use it to access resources uploaded by my teacher. I also arrange for teachers to be online at specific times to discuss my coursework with them."
